The adidas BW Army Trainer is making a comeback for Spring 2025, rekindling the nostalgia for sneaker enthusiasts and collectors alike. Originally designed for the West German army in the 1970s, this low-top silhouette features durable leather uppers and an indoor soccer tooling which made it a practical choice for the military. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, many pairs of these trainers were sold to the public, cementing their status as cult classics. In 2024, adidas released a limited-edition collaboration with Hartcopy, which served as a precursor to the official retail launch set for next April. This new in-line release will offer two premium leather styles: an all-black version with gum soles, and another in white also complemented with gum. Each pair showcases a rich combination of materials, including suede toe caps and leather sock liners, paying homage to the original designs. The initial pricing is set at $150, and while the shoes haven’t been officially announced by adidas yet, select retailers like Foot District are confirmed to stock them on April 1st, 2025.
