Nike is celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the Air Max 95, a classic sneaker originally designed by Sergio Lozano in the early 1990s. This year, during an Air Max Day event in Los Angeles, a new colorway dubbed ‘Reverse Neon’ was showcased. The Air Max 95, with its unique design inspired by human anatomy, features a wavy layered upper and has seen numerous remastered versions and new styles released in celebration of this milestone.
The ‘Reverse Neon’ colorway takes inspiration from the original Neon style but flips the conventional color blocking, presenting a fresh take with white lower layers transitioning to dark grey at the top. Although no official release date has been confirmed, it is expected that this exclusive drop will coincide with the Air Max 95’s anniversary later in 2025.
Notably, an early release is anticipated at the MoMA Design Store in SoHo, NYC, as hinted by Complex’s Brendan Dunne, marking excitement for collectors and fans alike. As the sneaker community eagerly awaits more information, the anticipation builds, particularly as Nike continues to pay homage to its heritage with innovative designs and throwback aesthetics.
