PUMA is set to release its Fast-R NITRO Elite 3 sneaker just in time for the 2025 Boston Marathon. This shoe is being touted as the most advanced performance sneaker PUMA has developed, emphasizing lightweight construction and cutting-edge technology aimed at enhancing running efficiency. The Fast-R NITRO Elite 3 has been laboratory-tested and is shown to improve running economy by 3.15% compared to its predecessor, a significant enhancement that could potentially shave over four minutes off a marathon finish for a three-hour runner. Key features include a NITROFOAM ELITE midsole for optimal energy return, a redesigned PWRPLATE for propulsion, an ULTRAWEAVE upper for support, and a PUMAGRIP outsole for traction. Weighing in at just 170 grams, it’s the lightest race-day shoe PUMA has produced. The sneaker will be available first at ‘The High Point’ during the Boston Marathon from April 18-20 before a global release on April 25, 2025. This follows recent trends in racing shoe innovation where brands like Nike and Adidas have introduced similar ‘super shoes’ that aim to enhance performance for elite and amateur runners alike.
