The adidas Originals team is set to unveil a brand new silhouette this week, the Adizero Goukana. Drawing inspiration from adidas’s legacy in performance running shoes, this chunky model will debut in a vibrant yellow colorway this coming summer. Over recent years, adidas has focused heavily on expanding their Adizero lineup, which first hit the market in 2008 after extensive research aimed at producing the lightest and fastest footwear possible. The original Adizero, now known as the flagship Adios, made headlines when worn by Haile Gebrselassie, who shattered records with a remarkable 2:03:59 finish at the Berlin marathon. Fast-forward to 2024, and a new iteration of the Adios was released through the Wales Bonner collaboration.
The upcoming Adizero Goukana pays homage to the original prototype by mirroring its design elements and color palette. It showcases bright yellow, silver, and black hues and boasts construction from a blend of mesh and suede along with synthetic accents. The shoe features a chunky midsole embedded with adidas’s superior LightStrike cushioning foam. Expected to launch in June, the Goukana will introduce the yellow style, followed closely by red and blue variants.
As of now, adidas has not released official pricing for the Adizero Goukana, but its debut is anticipated to happen on May 10th, 2025, exclusively through Undefeated—available both in-store and online. A wider release is still slated for June 2025. Keep an eye out for more updates and additional releases from this innovative new line.
