Madrid-based skate institution Welcome Skateboarding has finally entered into a collaboration with Nike SB after serving as a hub for Nike’s skateboarding community for many years. While Welcome has worked with various partners over the past 18 years, this is their first official collaboration with Nike SB.

Welcome Skateboarding has played a crucial role in revitalizing Madrid’s skate scene, particularly after the sport was banned from popular locations in the city. The shop has hosted launch events for Nike SB athletes like Ishod Wair, solidifying its importance within the skateboarding community.

The Welcome Blazer Mid, their collaborative shoe with Nike SB, embodies the spirit of inclusivity and community. The traditional branding on the shoe’s spine has been replaced with “Casa Welcome,” inviting both longtime and new fans to experience what Welcome Skateboarding has to offer. The tongue label features the phrase “All Welcome Here,” further emphasizing their commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all. The sockliners feature a graphic created by artist Marta Baztan, showcasing a diverse group of people and highlighting the shop’s warm and inviting atmosphere.

The shoe boasts a bone-colored leather upper with white-and-black accents on the inner lining and laces. The profile swooshes and other panels feature a vibrant red color reminiscent of wine, which also appears on the “Madrid” text on the heel. Star-shaped perforations add a unique touch to the toe box, while the midsoles keep it clean and simple in white. The herringbone traction stands out with its semi-translucent finish, revealing a large swoosh logo on the left shoe.

As of now, neither Nike SB nor Welcome Skateboarding has announced a release date for the collaboration on Nike SNKRS. However, it is expected that this information will be revealed soon. For now, sneaker enthusiasts can enjoy official photos of the Welcome Blazer Mid, retailing at $110 USD.
