British sneaker retail powerhouse size? is gearing up to release its highly anticipated New Balance 1906R “Diamond District” Pack. This exciting collaboration was first unveiled in the summer at a special preview event in London’s fashionable Covent Garden district.
Drawing inspiration from New York City’s renowned pawn shops, size? designed this collection to pay homage to the vintage watches often found at compelling prices in these establishments. And what better location to draw inspiration from than the city’s iconic Diamond District, located on 47th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue in Manhattan.
To promote their latest New Balance collaboration, size? has released marketing material featuring the two pairs of sneakers alongside attractive timepieces. One of the pairs, decked out in a vibrant green colorway, is cleverly paired with an undisclosed model of Vacheron Constantin’s Traditionnelle watch. The NB 1906R is crafted using top-quality materials, echoing the richness of the green color reminiscent of money. Gold accents can be found across the upper and the NB 860v2’s sole unit, cleverly referencing the metallic face of the Traditionnelle watch.
On the other hand, the second pair in the “Diamond District” pack opts for a sportier look, utilizing shades of grey. The suede and mesh construction aligns with retro running models from New Balance, but upon closer inspection of the campaign photography, one may notice the possible inspiration from the iconic Rolex Daytona timepiece. Additionally, the NLock components on the shoe’s profiles introduce a tasteful touch of blue and red contrast, possibly paying homage to the coveted “Pepsi” version of the Rolex GMT Master II.
Sneaker enthusiasts can get a closer look at these stunning pairs through detailed shots, and they’ll be able to purchase them exclusively via size? Launches starting November 4th. The “Diamond District” Pack has a price tag of £150 per pair (approximately $183 USD at the time of writing).
