Jordan Brand is gearing up to release the ‘Reverse Shadow’ colorway once again in 2025, this time as part of the Air Jordan 1 ’85 series, celebrating the silhouette’s fortieth anniversary. Although official details are still under wraps, the design will likely stay true to the original unreleased sample as well as the 2021 version. The Air Jordan 1 ’85 edition has been a platform for some of the most iconic styles of this legendary sneaker, many of which haven’t been available since their initial releases in the mid-1980s.
The ‘Reverse Shadow’ originally features a unique color scheme that inverts the grey and black panels of the standard OG Shadow look. While a version was released in 2021, this remastered ’85 edition aims to replicate the shoe as closely as possible to its original format, drawing from longstanding sneaker culture and its connections to Michael Jordan.
Although a specific release date has not yet been confirmed, it is rumored that the ‘Reverse Shadow’ AJ1 High will drop sometime in Summer 2025. The ’85 edition is expected to be in limited supply, making it a highly anticipated release among sneaker enthusiasts. It will likely be available through Nike’s SNKRS platform and select retailers.
