Ahead of Lunar New Year festivities, New Balance is releasing a new collection featuring the 1906R, 740, 1000, and WRPD Runner models. The 1906R draws inspiration from the early 2000s running style, characterized by a gradient mesh upper complemented by overlays for a technical look. Its dark grey heel counter provides contrast to the white and grey details, while silver reflective elements enhance the design. The 740 offers a more understated mesh upper with tonal overlays and a gradient midsole. The classic 1000 model, originally designed in 1999, showcases a chunkier silhouette with all-black materials accented by silver details and an arched midsole, as well as curvilinear leather overlays. Completing the collection is the WRPD Runner in grey and beige, showcasing enlarged ‘N’ logos and futuristic midsoles. This drop continues New Balance’s tradition of celebrating cultural events through unique footwear offerings, following previous releases like their Asian heritage-themed collections. The Lunar New Year collection will be available on January 1, 2025, via the New Balance web store.
