Nike’s venture into the realm of video games marks an exciting evolution, transitioning from mere digital collectibles to immersive wearable cosmetics. This time around, the brand takes it up a notch with the upcoming ‘Big Head’ edition of the Air Max 1, inspired by the nostalgic aesthetics of ’90s gaming. Dressed in shaggy brown suede complemented by striking red and gold accents reminiscent of Donkey Kong’s color palette, this sneaker features playful elements like an ESRB rating-inspired tongue label and themed insoles adorned with gold coins.
Set to drop in the U.S. on March 26th, coinciding with Air Max Day, this special edition is priced at $150 and will later be available in Europe in April. This release not only pays homage to beloved gaming culture but also continues Nike’s trend of celebrating both retro visuals and modern sneaker technology.
