On a recent Monday afternoon, a new collaboration between Salehe Bembury and New Balance was unveiled by the sneaker retailer A Ma Maniére. Scheduled for release in January, priced at $275, this new model showcases subtle color touches on the classic 1500 silhouette crafted from neutral-toned suede. The design features warm beige suede overlays paired with cool gray mesh on the toebox and gray leather at the collar. Bright yellow detailing is present on the co-branded tongue and at the back where the New Balance emblem resides. A highlight of this shoe is its eye-catching soles; the butter-colored midsoles are accented with brown at the heel, along with vibrant purple and orange details on the lateral side. Meanwhile, the outsole is primarily gray with a green panel at the arch’s center and an electric blue heel panel. This marked transition to a more understated aesthetics can be compared to Bembury’s previous collaborations, such as the expressive Crocs models, including the Pollex Juniper. Last year, he also debuted the ‘Heat Be Hot’ New Balance 1906R, which was characterized by silver overlays and flame-like gradients, a stark contrast to the more traditional vibe of this latest release. Stay tuned for updates on this release via A Ma Maniére this January, as it gains traction among sneaker enthusiasts.
