In a brilliant move to thwart sneaker leakers, Nike took the lead this month with the SNKRS Showcase. This exclusive event offered a tantalizing glimpse into the future of sneaker releases from the Beaverton brand. Among the exciting announcements were the official confirmation of the return of three legendary Nike Dunk Lows: the “Ultraman,” “Reverse Curry,” and “Silver Surfer” colorways.

One of the most highly anticipated releases is the “Ultraman” ensemble, which is making a comeback in 2024. This model, originally released back in 1999 as part of the CO.JP (Concept Japan) series, will be faithfully restored with its iconic red and silver design. It’s worth noting that this restoration pays homage to the classic color scheme, without directly referencing the 1960s Japanese sci-fi character.

Adding to the frenzy, Nike is also treating sneakerheads to the Japan-exclusive “Reverse Curry” Dunk Low. This beauty brings back the synonymous hue that defined its composition in the past. It’s a delicious throwback that captures the essence of the 1999 original in all its glory.

Not to be outdone, Nike has another treat in store for fans. The “Silver/Blue” Dunk Low is making a grand reentry, drawing inspiration from Marvel’s Silver Surfer in 2004. Celebrating the composition’s 20th anniversary, this unofficial reissue doesn’t feature metallic finishes like its predecessor, nor does it include specific Silver Surfer insignias. However, the mesh base on the vamp and mid-foot stays faithful to the original design. With vibrant red and “Cascade Blue” accents gracing the profile swoosh, tongue, and heel tab, this release is sure to make a striking statement.

The return of these iconic overseas installments from the early Dunk era solidifies the staying power of Peter Moore’s design. Decades after its debut on the hardwood, the Dunk remains an everyday staple for sneaker enthusiasts. The “Ultraman” and “Reverse Curry” ensembles are slated for a Summer 2024 drop, followed by the “Silver/Blue” offering in Fall 2024. Get ready for the hype, and feast your eyes on the official first-look images of each pair.
