The Air Jordan line has been a staple in sneaker culture since 1985. Michael Jordan’s iconic signature shoes have become more than just basketball sneakers, they’ve become a fashion statement for everyday wear. And now, there are rumors of a new addition to the Air Jordan 5 lineup that will bring a rugged vibe to your sneaker rotation for Fall 2024.

Dubbed the “Archaeo Brown,” this unreleased retro model features a color scheme of “Fire Red/Black/Sail” with a touch of brown. This follows the trend of previous “Archaeo Brown” makeovers seen on the Air Jordan 14 and Air Jordan 3 in October 2021 and 2022. While details about the shoe’s construction have yet to be revealed, its color scheme suggests that it may borrow some inspiration from Danner’s waterproof boots.

Early mock-ups of the Jordan 5 “Archaeo Brown” showcase uppers crafted from nubuck, though it’s possible that traditional leather may also be used in the final version. Mesh windows on the sides of the shoe add an off-white finish, creating a “Neo-vintage” aesthetic. The semi-translucent traction zones on the outsole add to the overall design. The remaining components of the shoe pay homage to the original color schemes of the Air Jordan 5, which were famously worn by Michael Jordan during his time with the Chicago Bulls. The tongue and midsole feature a black backdrop, allowing the “Fire Red” accents to truly shine. Instead of “Nike Air” branding, the spine of the shoe is expected to feature Jumpman logos, solidifying its place in the lifestyle sneaker space.

Sneakerheads eagerly await official launch details, which will hopefully be announced on Nike SNKRS in 2024. The “Archaeo Brown” Air Jordan 5s are expected to retail for $210 USD, so start saving up now.

For those craving more from the Jumpman family, keep an eye out for the Air Jordan 4 “Olive” set to release on November 18th.
